What is a Planet? - From Cornell University, this is an excellent site that explains what makes a planet a planet.  There are graphs here, as well as the International Astronomical Union's official definition of a planet.

 

Internation Astronomical Union - The scientific community that discusses the science of Astronomy.  It was also the group that decided that Pluto was NOT a planet.
